Natural Immunity Boosters

Cold and flu season is here and we all want to stay healthy and keep our families healthy. Prevention is always the best path but we know that no one is ever 100% well all of the time.

Below are a few ways to boost everyone’s immune system.

  1. Holy Grail-Vitamin C. There’s a reason we were always told to drink orange juice when we had a cold. According to Webmd, “Vitamin C is an important vitamin and antioxidant that the body uses to keep you strong and healthy. Vitamin C is used in the maintenance of bones, muscle, and blood vessels. Vitamin C also assists in the formation of collagen and helps the body absorb iron.”

  2. Elderberry Syrup. This is a staple in my home. Everyone from myself down to my almost two year old takes a teaspoon each day. According to, “Reasonable evidence supports its use to reduce the length and severity of flu symptoms. Also, it may support heart health, improve antioxidant status and have a variety of anti-cancer, anti-diabetes and anti-inflammatory effects.” Elderberry syrup can be purchased at most health food stores and on Amazon.

  3. Lemon, Tumeric, Ginger Tea. I’m sure we all know the amazing benefits of lemon to help cleanse and purify the body. Tumeric has amazing anti-inflammatory properties and ginger is amazing for digestion and your immune system. You can add these ingredients to water and boil or purchase pre-made tea bags from your local grocer.

Staying healthy is all about staying alert and attentive to your body and it’s needs. It’s much harder to rebuild an immune system under attack than it is to keep one healthy. How do you ward off flu season?
